Would be Truck Wash Entrepreneurs Fail to Face Facts

As a part-time consultant in the carwash industry in my retirement, often one gets approached by would be entrepreneurs who want to start a truck wash business. Generally they have some idea that this will not be cheap so they round up friends and potential investors and then begin to study the industry in detail. What is truly amazing is that with all the government regulations out there the costs of such ventures often make the viability un workable.

Normally such entrepreneur or investment groups believe that they can get by on about a fifth of the actual costs. Recently a group such as this approached me and one of them works for the government, as an administrator; a fancy name for paperwork pushing bureaucrat. They had many questions indeed, as anyone wanting to open a business would. Although I could determine how much rope he or his team needed to hang themselves, as they were somewhat arrogant in their abilities to deal with the barrage of bureaucracy out there. But I decided to give it a start to see how long it would be before they realized the follies of their visions of grandeur.

Additionally having battled the bureaucracy and anti-free enterprise vindictive government agency workers with all their jealously and mediocrity for some 27 years or more, I thought it would be hilarious indeed to watch them fall on their face. Ayn Rand would have had a good laugh and Adam Smith would have given me an atta boy if they were still alive today. I wrote back to these wanna be bureaucratic hopeful entrepreneurs;

I can hardly wait until y'all get into private enterprise, it will fun to watch you bureaucrats fall on your ass! And maybe once you get started I will show you, your wonderful civil servants at work in all these magnificent agencies. Get them to launch exploratory investigations on your company. EPA, OSHA, ADA for starters. Civil servants are 80% good? Oh, we'll see? Taste of your own medicine; Just wait. I can see it now an avalanche of BS forms, paperwork and over regulation back in your face.

They were taken a back, by my comments, they could not understand my attitude? Of course that figures, how smart do you have to be to have a job in the blob of bureaucracy anyway? They did not understand that real entrepreneurs just as soon hope they all burn in hell for all eternity upon the day they perish. Here are some of the ridiculous over regulations in the car wash industry.

The one gentleman claimed by we are good people, we just want to start our own business and he said there are lots of good folks in government. And he went on to say he wanted to defend the 80% of the very hard working civil servants that run our civilization? Unfortunately for him, I am a real entrepreneur and have been around the block and seen for myself first hand the truth; Worthless paper pushers. Now they will see why entrepreneurs who build and deliver everything you see, everywhere you go cannot stand these bureaucratic barrier buffoons. Think on this 2006.
